Areté Racing/Vellum Cycles has just returned from a highly successful campaign at the 2006 International Cycling Classic held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin (known to event veterans as ‘Superweek’). The strong field was comprised of the top teams in the United States and beyond.
Areté/Vellum rider Shaun Harless earned the overall points leader title for two days by repeatedly finishing on the podium step.
“I felt confident and had good legs throughout the week and am especially pleased with my ride at Holy Hill.”
Shaun placed second in the Tour of Holy Hill Road Race that presented a challenging course with very windy conditions. Other team members, Ryan Dawkins and Mack Chew, finished strong in fields packed with riders from TIAA-CREF, KodakGallery.com/Sierra Nevada, Healthnet p/b Maxxis, Toyota-United Pro, and Team Milram.
“We are very proud of Shaun’s performance. He has worked hard this season and deserves everything he has achieved at Superweek. He’s from the Midwest too, and that just makes it sweeter!”
MACK CHEW, TEAM CAPTAIN
After a great run at Superweek, Areté’ will be looking for more at the upcoming fast and furious Manhattan Beach Grand Prix. The team will end the season at Downer’s Grove, Illinois, home of the USPRO National Criterium Championships.
“The team is happy with our results this season at the NRC dates and hopes for continued success. Vellum Cycles has been great support for us and we are proud to showcase their bikes at events around the country.”
RYAN DAWKINS, GENERAL MANAGER
